February 2, 2007 --(San Diego, CA) Numerical Innovations, LLC (NI) today announced its official launch of EasyGerb 2.1TM (AutoCAD to Gerber)

There is a significant number of EDA designers' who require the use of AutoCAD®, to layout custom designs which contain geometries that have not traditionally been the focus of today's main-stream layout tools; such as arcs, curves, circles and other multi-polygonic shapes. AutoCAD provides an excellent way to draw these complex geometries for PCB's, RF/Microwave, MEMs, Chemical Milling & optical components, as well as mechanical information related to the design. The problem occurs when converting the exported data (i.e. DXF) to Gerber, with the use of an external translator tool; which introduces the potential for loss of data (when importing the DXF), requires extensive configuration & re- mapping of layers, blocks, fonts, and the overall expense & maintenance contracts for these external translator tools can cost thousands of dollars! EasyGerb exports Gerber files inside AutoCAD (No DXF file or External translator tool is needed) by simply selecting any objects the user can begin creating Gerber files - instantly! This tool is the easiest-to-use Gerber conversion solution for any AutoCAD user.

Undetected flaws during the translation such as poor arc quality, polygons not filled, "void" areas missing, etc. can cause an entire design flow to come to a halt. EasyGerb 2.1 seamlessly bridges this gap with an all-in-one concept that includes specialized conversion, repair, and viewing features built-in to simplify, improve, and verify the entire process of getting accurate masks from CAD data.

"EasyGerb 2.1 is a must have for any designer who uses AutoCAD to layout designs for PCB, RF/Microwave, chemical milling, MEMs, and then convert to Gerber. It is by far the easiest gerber translation solution available, runs directly inside AutoCAD, and does an extraordinary job converting complex drawings containing arcs, fonts, blocks, and more. This furthers our goal of Numerical Innovations, empowering electronic designers and engineers with clever, high quality software tools which facilitate their designs for manufacturing," mentions Simon Garrison of Numerical Innovations.

EasyGerb 2.1 is extremely powerful and outputs Gerber in formats RS-274D, RS274-X, Fire9000; while supporting True Gerber Arcs (G75), Step/Repeat (SR) codes, Composite (Dark/Clear) Layer Merging, Flash Blocks, Assign Aperture lists, handles SHX & TrueType fonts, saves configurations, and outputs NC Drill files for any layer! EasyGerb 2.1 is an ObjectARX program designed to run inside all major releases of AutoCAD (2000-2007).

EasyGerb licenses are sold on permanent basis, along with the optional Platinum Support Plan; Network and Site licenses are also available. The NI website also includes Free 7-day Tryouts, product reviews, interactive Flash® demonstration movies, and a guarantee of satisfaction on all products. This makes the buying experience easier, friendly and hassle free. Visit the Numerical Innovations website for further information about its products at
