Xceive Announces Low Power, High Performance Single-Chip RF-to-Baseband Receivers; Fully Integrated Silicon Tuners Provide 20 Percent Power Savings for Portable LCD-TVs, USB TV Sticks, and Notebook Applications

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aug. 24, 2006— Xceive Corporation, developer of the world's first fully integrated multi-standard RF-to-baseband transceiver ICs for TVs, PC TVs and set-top boxes, today announced the XC3028L and XC2028L, the world's smallest, low power, high performance single-chip receivers.

Maintaining the high level of performance experienced with Xceive's XC3028 and XC2028 tuners, XC3028L and XC2028L use 20 percent less power. This power saving capability is crucial to low power applications such as notebook computers, USB TV sticks and portable TVs.

The XC3028L is a hybrid analog and digital terrestrial and cable receiver that breaks through prior power-consumption constraints. The XC2028L provides the same capabilities for analog-only applications. Both tuners have embedded DSP technology that makes adjustments to the hardware to optimize the terrestrial or cable signal for crystal-clear picture quality.

The XC3028L and XC2028L, based on Xceive's QuickTune(TM) technology, are the fastest tuning receivers in the industry. Housed in an ultra-small (7mm x 7mm) 48-pin QFN package, these RF-to-baseband receivers are the most highly integrated silicon tuners in the world. With SAW filters built into the device, the tuners support all analog and digital TV standards worldwide including an onboard global analog demodulator. All tuning is done inside the device with no external hardware changes needed.

The XC3028L and XC2028L are immediately available for production.
