Synopsys Professional Services Adopts Giga Scale IC’s InCyte™ Chip Estimation System

Cupertino, Calif.. – February 6, 2006 – Giga Scale Integration Corporation (Giga Scale IC) announced today that Synopsys Professional Services, the IC design consulting organization within semiconductor design software leader Synopsys, Inc., has become the latest IC design services leader to adopt Giga Scale IC’s InCyte chip estimation system to perform early die size estimation.

InCyte is emerging as the de facto standard for chip estimation among ASIC vendors and design services firms. It enables fast estimations at the earliest stages of the design cycle, when the greatest cost savings can be realized. InCyte delivers accurate estimations of die size, power, leakage, yield, and cost, and allows for rapid “what if” analysis at the architectural level in the design flow.

“Our physical design teams will utilize InCyte to estimate chip die size as part of our ongoing efforts to provide our customers with the earliest and most accurate chip estimations possible,” said Gene Shrock, a Group Director of IC Design Engineering for Synopsys Professional Services. “Giga Scale IC’s InCyte tool also enables us to explore and analyze designs across alternative process variants and IP options as a means of converging upon an optimum set of parameters required to meet our customers’ design goals.”

Synopsys Professional Services is a worldwide IC design services organization that helps customers improve their design productivity and achieve tapeout success at mainstream and advanced process nodes.

“The adoption of InCyte by such a prestigious industry leader provides further confirmation that InCyte is rapidly becoming the solution of choice for organizations performing design work for IC customers,” said Adam Traidman, Giga Scale IC President. “We are confident that InCyte will enhance the Synopsys design services team’s ability to deliver key chip characteristics to their customers that are important in making technical and economic design tradeoffs.”

About Giga Scale IC
Founded in 2003, Giga Scale IC is a privately funded EDA company that develops and markets InCyte, a chip estimation software system that dramatically reduces the risk, design time and cost of IC design. InCyte accurately estimates key IC specifications, including size, power, leakage, yield, and cost. A free version of InCyte is available by registering at www.ChipEstimate.com. Upgrade subscriptions enhance InCyte’s estimation accuracy through access to prominent third-party foundry and IP library data. Purchasing an upgrade subscription also enables the industry’s only IC Economic Analysis Engine, which provides an accurate estimation of final packaged chip cost.

Giga Scale IC is located at: 10050 North Wolfe Road, Suite SW1-266, Cupertino, Calif. 95014. Telephone: (408) 255-0444. Facsimile: (408) 255-0344. Email: Email Contact. Web Site: http://www.gigaic.com.
