PALAISEAU, France, Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- After introducing in May 2005 the DIB7700-P, the most integrated DVB-T chip including an USB2.0 interface for digital TV reception on PC, DiBcom today announced the DIB7710-P, a highly integrated, low-power, cost-effective DVB-T chip with a PCI interface. The DIB7700-P and DIB7710-P family provides a complete solution for all possible PCTV DVB-T peripherals, ranging from mini-PCI to mini-card for laptops, and PCI to USB2.0 for desktops. The new external PCI-Express form factor, which replaces the previous CardBus interface, is also supported by these circuits. Utilizing less than 200 mW for the demodulator, this product provides the lowest power consumption on the market, offering the perfect solution for hybrid analog/digital and digital solutions.

With this highly integrated solution, the DIB7710-P now competes with the most cost-effective solutions on the market in terms of pricing. This new chip also offers the perfect reception quality with a portable antenna, a requirement for the success of these devices in the consumer market. The cost advantage of merging PCI and USB 2.0 interfaces on the chip is very high, and DiBcom's experience in developing state-of-the-art Microsoft(TM) drivers makes it a complete solution for fast time-to-market for ODMs and OEMs. The DIB7710- P can be used in either single or diversity mode, which has proven to offer up to 11 dB gain in European countries for portable reception. This currently supports hybrid analog/digital combination.
