GigOptix Announces Introduction of Complete 28G/100G Chipset Portfolio for Short Reach and Long Reach Ethernet Product Datacenter Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 21, 2016GigOptix, Inc. (NYSE MKT: GIG), a leading supplier of advanced semiconductor communications components for use in Cloud connectivity, data centers, and high-speed optical and wireless networks, today announced the release of complete chipset portfolio for 28Gbps and 100Gbps based solutions for Short Reach (SR) and Long Reach (LR) Ethernet applications for inter and intra datacenter connectivity.

“With an already dominating market share in the current generation of 40Gbps active optical cables (AOCs) and transceivers for Data Center connectivity, GigOptix is pleased to announce that it started shipping complete production chipsets for 100Gbps Short Reach (SR) and Long Reach (LR) Ethernet applications for inter and intra datacenter connectivity. The chipsets comprise: 1x and 4x Short Reach TIA receiver (HXR8201 and HXR8204), VCSEL driver (HXT8201 and HXT8204), 1x and 4x Long Reach DML driver (HXT42100 and HXT42400), complemented by the proven Clock & Data Recovery (CDR) technology represented by the 2x and 4x CDR/Retimer chips (HXC42200 and HXC42400),” said Tom Kapucija, Director of Datacom Marketing at GigOptix.
