EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Jan. 5, 2016 -- NI AWR Design Environment™ will be highlighted during a one-day advanced filter design workshop taught by IEEE Fellow, Dan Swanson of SW Filter Design. Mr. Swanson, an industry electromagnetic expert, will demonstrate the steps necessary to successfully design filters using NI AWR software, as well as SW Filter software for both a microstrip combline filter and a narrow band, high Q cavity combline filter.
The proliferation of different wireless communication standards for both commercial and aerospace/defense applications has led to a crowded frequency spectrum that requires high Q, narrowband filters to address potential co-site signal interference. Developing such filters with the required pass/reject band performance within the space and cost constraints of the network or mobile device presents a growing challenge to design engineers. The material in this workshop demonstrates a new method that quickly identifies the physical parameters of the filter design in order to achieve the necessary RF/microwave performance. The course is suitable for filter and RF component designers, system engineers, experienced technicians and technical managers.
