QuickLogic Provides Display Bridge for Samsung Galaxy View, the New Large Screen Tablet

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Nov 18, 2015 -- QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator of ultra-low power programmable sensor processing solutions, today announced that the company's ArcticLink® III display bridge is now shipping in Samsung's new Galaxy View. With its large 18.4 inch 1080 Full HD display, the Galaxy View delivers an immersive, touchable, and movable experience into every room of the house. QuickLogic's ArcticLink III platform implements display bridging functionality by providing interface compatibility between the tablet's processor and the display.

The Samsung Galaxy View is the largest Android tablet in the market today, and targets the home entertainment market. The Galaxy view includes Samsung's new Family Square user interface, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is optimized for larger touch-screen displays. In addition to its large format, the Galaxy View also includes improved audio performance, a front-facing camera, and a kickstand that doubles as a carrying handle. Other features include 2GB of RAM, 32 GB of SSD storage and a 5700 mAh battery.

The ArcticLink III platform features 15 different versions of silicon to support a wide range of display bridging solutions. Included are versions designed to optimize display performance in bright ambient light, and reduce display power consumption. There are also versions with dual display outputs as well as a version that is optimized for pico-projector applications. The platform features low cost and very low power consumption in a small 4.5 x 4.5mm package, making it easy for OEMs to integrate it into new and existing designs.

"Samsung has once again designed a QuickLogic CSSP solution into one of their latest mobile computing devices," said Brian Faith, VP of worldwide marketing. "We are very pleased to support display bridging technology and look forward to the success of this leading edge product from Samsung."
