Silvaco and IPextreme Expand Customer Reach Through Semiconductor IP Partnership

SANTA CLARA, CA and CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwired - October 20, 2015) - Silvaco, Inc. and IPextreme today announced a partnership in which Silvaco will sell and deliver IPextreme's suite of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) cores and its Xena enterprise-level IP management software platform. Under the terms of the reseller agreement, Silvaco will sell and deliver IPextreme's products to end customers, and IPextreme will provide technical support through its Xena IP management platform.

Products available for licensing include:

  • The world's largest collection of microcontrollers (8/16/32 bit cores) and platforms
  • Processor interconnect and infrastructure cores
  • Automotive interfaces, including CAN and FlexRay
  • Test and debug cores
  • Xena, IPextreme's enterprise-level IP management software platform

"Emerging markets such as internet of things, wearables, and next-generation automotive are placing stringent demands on IC designers to meet performance and time-to-market requirements, as well as effectively manage complexity, security, power, and cost issues," said David L. Dutton, Chief Executive Officer of Silvaco. "Third-party semiconductor IP helps mitigate cost and timing risk and is an increasingly important part of the IC design process. In combination with our widely deployed TCAD-to-signoff software, our partnership with IPextreme now enables us to provide a complete solution of silicon-proven IP as well as robust IP management tools and methodology. Silvaco's growth is driven by providing complete solutions for our customers' time-sensitive and critical problems, and we are committed to building out these solutions internally or through strategic partnerships."

"IPextreme has built its reputation as a leader in IP commercialization," said Warren Savage, President and CEO of IPextreme. "Through our relationships with leading semiconductor companies, we have delivered high quality IP to more than one hundred customers. We are excited to partner with Silvaco, whose established global sales channel will enable us to proliferate our IP offerings to help our mutual customers improve design performance, increase quality-of-design results, accelerate time-to-market, and raise engineering productivity."

Founded in 2004, IPextreme is a privately held company providing an array of innovative business and technical solutions focused around the licensing of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) within the global electronics market. Working with the largest semiconductor companies in the world, including Freescale, Infineon, Intel, NXP, National Semiconductor, and Texas Instruments, IPextreme unlocks the value of captive intellectual property assets and then licenses that IP to other companies. IPextreme's cloud-based Xena™ software provides semiconductor and IP companies with enterprise-level management of their entire IP portfolios and operations. In 2010, IPextreme created Constellations™, a collective of independent IP companies and industry partners working together at both the marketing and engineering levels to develop and promote advanced IP solutions to common customers.

IPextreme has over 100 customers in more than twenty countries. Offices are located in Campbell, California; Munich, Germany; and Tokyo, Japan, with representatives in Europe, China, India, Israel, Korea, and Taiwan.
