Fairchild Semiconductor to Standardize Globally on Camstar Manufacturing Platform

Enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Enables Complete Visibility, Rapid Change and Continuous Quality Improvements

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 16, 2013 — Camstar Systems, Inc. announced today that Fairchild Semiconductor, the iconic leader in the design and manufacture of power and mobile semiconductor technologies, is replacing the legacy commercial and customized MES applications with Semiconductor SuiteTM, an industry-specific version of Camstar’s Enterprise MES Platform. The Camstar solution is being deployed globally across Fairchild’s assembly, test and packaging manufacturing facilities plus its failure analysis and quality labs. Key to Fairchild’s global standardization initiative, Camstar’s Platform simplifies the application landscape and minimizes the number of enterprise applications.

“Fairchild’s high performance semiconductor products are optimized for power sensitive and mobile applications,” said Mike Dube, VP Assembly and Final Test Operations for Fairchild. “With Camstar’s MES, we’ll have reliable visibility into all global operations, be able to adapt more quickly to change, remove manual processes, reduce operational costs and increase our output of consistently reliable, robust and high quality products.”

“Fairchild delivers high performance semiconductor products that serve diverse applications and end system solutions, and our manufacturing systems must support this diversity,” said Harold Caldwell, IT Director – Global Manufacturing Systems for Fairchild. “We chose Camstar to take us into the future. Its ease of configuration makes it ideal across all production and lab areas, and it enables the constant changes required for rapid innovation and product release. We can provide users with the manufacturing tools they need – quickly and cost-effectively – now and in the future.”

“Product quality and reliability are top priorities at Fairchild,” said Dale Farris, Director Global Quality Systems for Fairchild. “Camstar’s solution will streamline our quality processes for failure analysis, supplier materials, and internal quality controls.”

“Fairchild underwent extensive due diligence in selecting our next-generation, global manufacturing, quality and automation solution,” said Tim Hewitt, Senior Manager - Global Manufacturing Systems. “Camstar’s technology, global resources, and clear leadership in the semiconductor industry set them apart. We are excited to be implementing Camstar and look forward to a long, successful partnership.”

“Fairchild is the latest progressive semiconductor manufacturer to make the change from legacy systems to Camstar’s modern and proven platform,” said Scott Toney, President and CEO for Camstar. “Camstar’s long-time commitment to the semiconductor industry enables manufacturers to meet the demands of stringent quality requirements and rapidly changing products and processes.”
