Industry’s First Silicon Tuners Adopted Globally in iDTVs

AUSTIN, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 8, 2012 — Reaching a major milestone in the broadcast TV market, Silicon Laboratories Inc. (NASDAQ: SLAB), a leader in high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs, today announced that it has shipped its one hundred millionth silicon TV tuner. Silicon Labs’ TV tuners were the first to fully displace traditional tuner modules in iDTVs and have been adopted by virtually all of the name-brand TV makers. Silicon Labs’ patented silicon TV tuners represent a disruptive breakthrough that enables TV makers to improve picture quality and channel reception while reducing system cost and complexity.
