Manufacturing/Heavy Industry News Site Launched

ManufacturingPulse.com a time-saving, reliable resource that includes both industry news and original content

LEXINGTON, Ky., July 16, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — Manufacturing Pulse ( www.ManufacturingPulse.com), a free online news resource, was announced today by Gray Construction. Manufacturing Pulse combines the latest manufacturing news with exclusive related commentary and analysis from select nationally-known commentators as well as the National Association of Manufacturers.

The first featured contributor is University of Michigan professor Jeffrey Liker, Ph.D., author of "The Toyota Way" (McGraw-Hill, 2004). Dr. Liker writes a biweekly "Lean Manufacturing Insights" column for Manufacturing Pulse; his first article is online today and discusses what "lean" really means. The National Association of Manufacturers will also provide exclusive content. Additional contributors will be announced soon.

Manufacturing Pulse offers a single location for manufacturing and heavy industry leaders to monitor the latest news gleaned from articles, commentary and video on more than 100 trusted sites. As a leader in the construction of manufacturing facilities, Gray Construction sought to provide an information service to support its customers' need for current industry information.

"The exclusive, original content added by Dr. Liker, NAM officials, and other commentators will give readers access to insightful thinking focused both on manufacturing specifically, and also on topics that shape industry across the board," said Stephen Gray, president and CEO of Gray Construction, one of the nation's foremost design-build construction firms specializing in manufacturing facilities.

Manufacturing Pulse updates constantly with both headlines and the first lines of each story, and provides links to full articles. News is selected through a combination of keywords; articles on the site also include links enabling readers to easily share them via email and social networks. Users can access Manufacturing Pulse on their own schedule, or subscribe to a daily news summary.

"Manufacturing Pulse was honed through beta testing and other research to serve as a highly-sophisticated, time-saving and reliable resource for officials leading the manufacturing and heavy industry sectors, and the journalists that cover them," Gray said.

Articles typically appear on Manufacturing Pulse within minutes of posting on their original sites and can be searched for about two weeks. Articles and commentary written exclusively for Manufacturing Pulse remain on the site permanently. User data is never shared or sold.
