Freescale Technology Forum Americas 2012 Opens Today

SAN ANTONIO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 18, 2012Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE: FSL) kicks off the Freescale Technology Forum (FTF) Americas today at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas. Approximately 2,000 designers, applications engineers, industry experts, executives and hardware, software and tools partners are on hand for four intensive days of learning and networking.

The FTF Americas 2012 program features a 40,000-square-foot interactive Technology Lab with more than 200 demonstrations from Freescale and its partners. The event also includes more than 400 hours of technical training sessions organized into seven tracks: Automotive, Consumer and Smart Devices, Health Care, Industrial, Networking, Smart Energy and Enabling Technologies.

“We are anticipating another outstanding FTF – the premier technical training event for embedded engineers – this year,” said Henri Richard, senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer for Freescale. “FTF provides a unique opportunity for attendees to discover our latest innovations and interact with the entire Freescale ecosystem, a global community comprised of Freescale and its partners, customers and universities.”

The theme for the global FTF 2012 program is “Powering Innovation.” Freescale will emphasize its leading technologies and products that help embedded developers differentiate their designs, as well as the comprehensive, market-focused spectrum of enablement solutions and ecosystem partnerships needed to help developers innovate and accelerate their time to market.

Highlights from the event, including videos, photos, collateral and technical session recordings, will be uploaded to frequently throughout the conference. Updates also will be posted to Freescale’s Facebook page, YouTube page, Twitter feed and the Freescale Technology Forum page on LinkedIn.

Keynote presentations at FTF Americas 2012

Tuesday, June 19 – Gregg Lowe, Freescale president and chief executive officer, will present the opening keynote address, focused on how Freescale is powering innovation in the era of connected intelligence.

Wednesday, June 20 – Peter Diamandis Chairman of X PRIZE Foundation and Singularity University

Thursday, June 21 – Doug Yates, CEO, Roush Yates Engines and Peter Van Manen, Managing Director, McLaren Electronics, are scheduled to close out the event on Thursday, June 21, discussing engineering in motorsports.
