According to ELECTRONICS.CA, USB 3.0 will become available in smartphones and tablets by 2013. The USB 3.0 standard, supported by TranSwitch's HDmobile solution, provides up to 10 times faster data speeds than current USB 2.0 devices. Additionally, In-Stat projects that of the estimated 1.25 billion smart phones and tablets to be sold in 2015, over 470 million of them will have HDMI® or DisplayPort video connectivity.
