TOPIC:
EDA Evolution: The rise of ESL and DFM as the core of design
Definitions for ESL and DFM are solidifying and acceptance of these technologies from peripheral companies in the EDA space is on the increase. Some industry watchers predict that as the use of these tools becomes more commonplace the need for core EDA tools will decrease and the industry leader may be eclipsed.
PANELISTS:
Tim Fox, VP Equity Research, Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc.
Jeff Jussel, General Manager, Americas, Celoxica
Tom Grebinski, CEO OASIS Tooling and SEMI Task Force Chair
Vess Johnson, CEO Nacentric.

| The defn. of DFM was never clearly separated from DSM. (i.e. DFM is a problem, but several comments that DSM was DFM were confusing!) Also a clear idea of what defines ESL was not made. - Gerry Vandevalk - Report As Inappropriate |
