Chip design study sheds new
light on market drivers
Within the electronic design automation (EDA) industry, conventional wisdom holds that as
the semiconductor industry transitions to smaller process geometries (Moore’s Law),
demand for new design tools automatically increases and EDA vendors benefit accordingly.
While we still believe that the demand for new design technology continues to be driven by
Moore’s Law, in our view, new challenges and hence opportunities are emerging for EDA
vendors.
