Recent advances in wireless networking technology and the exponential development of semiconductor technology have introduced new challenges in the
design of battery-oriented mobile devices. One of the critical design concerns is power consumption, especially for leakage power consumption, as modern
technology is scaled down in the deep sub-micron era. The motivation for this white paper is to introduce how PowerTheater deals with the leakage power
during early stages in the design flow. In addition, leakage-power related issues are presented and discussed.
