The OSCI TLM2.0 defines Transaction Level Modeling standard with primary goal of model interoperability. Very often debugging interoperability problems is ten times more time consuming and are significantly more difficult to detect. Usually more than one person is needed to debug incompatibility problems, as models in virtual platforms typically come from different sources.
