When migrating to a new CAD tool one of the primary concerns is to save important data in existing designs and libraries. Sometimes it is desirable to translate existing libraries since time and effort have been invested in creating them and you want to avoid having to repeat that development in a new tool. Most legacy designs are typically maintained in their respective CAD tools and new designs going forward are designed in the new tool set. This is primarily due to complexities and compatibility of the data coming from one tool to another. No translation is completely perfect and some tools are more compatible than others.
