Improving image resolution in camera phones escalates the need to have a powerful flash LED to support the camera operation in a low ambient light environment. A multiple-chip fun-flash is no longer able to support this growing demand; now a high-power LED flash is needed. It is important for the camera phone designers to understand the purpose, concept and methodology of a high power flash.
