In this white paper, we will discuss advances in clustering technology that have redefined the price to performance curve for many High Performance Computing (HPC) application areas. We will point out, that Not all applications need high level of hardware (and cost) to achieve leading edge price-to-performance. Furthermore, we will highlight application areas where High Performance/Low Cost types of commodity clusters are expected to provide optimum performance.
