Come Celebrate DAC’s 50th Anniversary with Breker
May 7th, 2013 by Tom Anderson, VP of Marketing
If you follow EDA at all, you’re surely familiar with the Design Automation Conference (DAC). This is the biggest annual show for the industry, combining a world-class technical program with a lively and comprehensive trade show. If any company in EDA does not exhibit at DAC, rumors of serious financial troubles or even imminent death are sure to circulate. Of course Breker is very much alive and very supportive of DAC. We’ve been there for several years now, but this year in Austin June 2-6 will be special for many reasons. Please allow me to explain.
For a start, this is the 50th anniversary of DAC and its predecessor conferences, so there is a big party at Austin City Limits and a number of other special events. This is also Breker’s 10th anniversary, so we’re celebrating at DAC as never before. Furthermore, this is the first time that DAC has ever been held in the high-tech hotspot of Austin, so there will be lots of new things to do and see even for long-time DAC attendees such as me. On top of that, Breker was founded in Austin and was headquartered there until moving to Silicon Valley two years ago. As one of the few EDA companies “born in Austin” we’re excited to return for this big show.
The most exciting event for Breker is an early evening cruise around Austin’s Lady Bird Lake on Tuesday, June 4. We’ll make sure you see the world-famous exodus of the bats living under the Congress Avenue Bridge as they head out for their nightly feeding. We promise to have you ashore in plenty of time for the always-epic Denali Party by Cadence. Interested? All you need to do is to attend a presentation at the Breker booth. We’ll draw for a ticket to the cruise at the end of every presentation or skit. Skit, you ask? Sorry, but you’ll have to visit us at DAC to find out more about that!
We’ll be in booth 2015, just two doors down from our friends at Cadence and across the aisle from analog hotshots BDA. The exhibition hours are 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Wednesday, June 3-5. We expect a great crowd and lots of fun. In addition to our theater, we’ll have multiple demo stations staffed by our application engineers for those who want to dig deeper into our solutions and technology. We’ll also have a suite available for private meetings. You can request a suite meeting in advance on our Web site. Above all, please stop by just to chat and see what’s new with Breker. It’s been an incredible year and we’d love to update you on the company’s growth and some amazing technological advances in our TrekSoC product.
Breker is involved in two panels at this year’s show. Our CEO Adnan Hamid is a panelist on “Disruptive Verification Technologies: Can They Really Make a Difference?” 9:00am-10:30am on Wednesday, June 5 as part of the technical program. I helped organize another panel, “Organizational and Management Solutions to the Verification Crisis” to be held 1:30pm-2:30pm on Tuesday, June 4 in the DAC Pavilion Theater (Booth 509) on the exhibit floor. Both have excellent panelists and moderators, so please try to attend.
Finally, we’re very excited to present our first customer case study to appear in the DAC technical program. A team of engineers from IBM in Boeblingen, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland developed a deeply technical poster session on “Graph-Based Verification Patterns.” This will be presented as paper 3.17 in the Designer Track 12:00pm-1:30pm on Tuesday, June 4 in Hall 5. Please join us to hear about the use of Breker’s solutions in a challenging real-world verification effort.
I’m surrounded by trees of detailed preparations right now, but I can clearly see the forest and it’s stunning. This will be a terrific show with many fun activities surrounding it. I most sincerely hope that you will be able to join us.
The truth is out there … sometimes it’s in a blog.
