Auld Lang Syne: 2016 Awaits
December 17th, 2015 by Peggy Aycinena
The calendar year draws to a close, but not the momentum of technology as evidenced by the roadmap of conferences set to unfold over the next several months. There are so many opportunities to network, learn, and develop sales leads.
* CES2016: Consumer Electronics Show – January 4-9 – Las Vegas
No one need tell you what CES encompasses: Simply everything. The 2016 edition includes keynotes from the CEOs of Intel, VW, CTA, Netflix, GM, IBM, and execs from Samsung, NBCUniversal, and YouTube. The future is always showcased at CES.
* CAR-ELE Japan – January 13-15 – Tokyo
Exhibit Zones include: Automotive Components & In-vehicle Systems, In-vehicle Semiconductors, Electronic Components & Electronic Materials Zone Testing, ECU Manufacturing & Testing Zone, ADAS/Autonomous Driving Technology, Automotive Software Development, EMC/Noise Reduction, Thermal Management, and Design Engineering & Development Solution. Keynoters at the concurrent technical conference include execs from Subaru, BMW, and Volvo.
* DesignCon – January 19-21 – Santa Clara
More than 100 technical paper sessions, panels and tutorials, conference attendees gather the latest theories, methodologies, applications and advanced design tools related to signal integrity, power integrity, jitter, crosstalk, test and measurement, parallel and memory interface design, ICs, semiconductor components and more.
* CDN’s Embedded Neural Networks Summit – February 9 – San Jose
Per organizers: In today’s world, there is an enormous amount of data that requires robust processing power to make intelligent decisions for various applications from image, pattern, and speech recognition to natural language processing and video analysis. The application areas for convolutional neural networks are growing in the mobile, automotive, consumer and IoT worlds.
* Mobile World Congress – February 22-25 Barcelona
“The programme will provide an in-depth coverage of the current and future mobile industry, highlighting specific areas of growth as well as the latest technological developments, next-generation services and growth strategies. Thought leaders from the most important companies in mobile and adjacent industries will be represented across the four days of the event.”
* DVCon 2016 – February 29 – March 3 – San Jose
Conference includes “a concentrated menu of tutorials, papers, poster sessions and panels focused on design and verification. In addition, DVCon attendees have the opportunity to take part in the many informal technical discussions. More than 800 design and verification engineers and engineering managers attend the conference.
* SNUG Silicon Valley – March 30-31 – Santa Clara
Per organizers: “SNUG brings together more than 2500 Synopsys users, technologists and industry experts for Silicon Valley’s largest technical conference devoted to the challenges of electronic design and verification.”
* CDNLive Silicon Valley 2016 – April 5-6 – Santa Clara
Sponsorships are available: “CDNLive Silicon Valley brings together Cadence technology users, developers, and industry experts to network, share best practices on critical design and verification issues, and discover new techniques for designing advanced silicon, SoCs, and systems.”
* CDNLive EMEA 2016 – May 2-4 – Munich
The show moves to Europe.
* EDPS 2016: Electronic Design Process Symposium – April 21-22 – Monterey
In its 23nd year, EDPS fosters the free exchange of ideas among the top thinkers, movers, and shakers who focus on how chips and systems are designed in the electronics industry. The conference includes a cross-section of the design community discussing state-of-the-art improvements to electronics design processes and CAD methodologies, rather than on the functions of the individual tools themselves. Gary Smith will be missed by many at the 2016 event.
* DAC 2016 – June 5-9 – Austin
Austin’s DAC will showcase 6 tracks: EDA, Embedded Systems & Software, Design/IP, IoT, Automotive, and Security. You can exhibit, sponsor, network and present at DAC. Marie Pistilli will be missed by many in Austin.
