SNUG 2012 Silicon Valley Video Interviews and Design Community Expo Photos

March 30th, 2012 by Graham Bell

Last week was the Synopsys Users Group Silicon Valley 2012 annual meeting.   On Monday March 26, Aart de Geus, CEO of Synopsys gave an illuminating and heart felt keynote that reflected on where we have come from and where we are going as a design industry.  His mention of meeting Barney Kessel, famous Jazz guitarist, when he was a young man, poignantly told of his respect for the greatness that resides in all of us.  Afterwards, I interviewed Aart about the the keynote.

At the Design Community Expo there were over 60 different exhibitors from seven different design communities showcasing their solutions.  While at the event I interviewed Susan Peterson from Cadence abour their new interface and memory IP for Cloud InfrastructureTom De Schutter from Synopsys about the new Virtualizer Development Kit for ARM Cortex processors, and Henk Hamoen from Synopsys regarding their new versatile Audio IP Subsystem that delivers 0.30mW performance.

You can see all seven interviews from SNUG 2012 here.

There was lots of activity at the Design Community Expo.  You can see some of it here in the photo gallery below.  Enjoy!
