Broadcom Announces Industry's First High Definition DTA Cable Set-Top Box SoC With Integrated Tuner and HDMI

Highly Integrated and Cost Effective HD SoC Enables North American Cable Operators to Transition Analog Subscribers Directly to HD

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 — (PRNewswire) — 2010 International CES -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), a global leader in semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, today announced its next generation digital terminal adapter (DTA) cable set-top box (STB) system-on-a-chip (SoC) solution at this week's 2010 International CES in Las Vegas.  The new DTA solution is the industry's first to combine high definition (HD) video, an integrated 1GHz cable tuner and HDMI capabilities in an ultra small form factor.  As HD continues to proliferate, the Broadcom® BCM7572 HD DTA solution enables North American cable operators to transition subscribers from analog programming directly to HD programming.
