PulseWave RF Announces Sample Availability Dates for Two New Wireless Base Station Digital Power Amplifier Modules

LAS VEGAS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 1, 2008— At CTIA Wireless 2008, PulseWave RF(TM), Inc. announced sample availability dates for two new digital multi-carrier power amplifier (MCPA) modules, which provide unparalleled combination of performance and integration. Samples of the PulseWave RF Class M(TM) Power PW8100 and PW21200 modules will be available in April and July 2008 respectively. PulseWave RF will conduct private demonstrations of the modules at the show and appointments can be scheduled at booth #1563.

"With the release of these new modules, we're giving wireless base station manufacturers a completely new approach for RF power amplifier modules," said Graham Haddock, president and CEO of PulseWave RF. "The Class M Power technology provides a high level of integration that will radically simplify the design and manufacture of multicarrier power amplifiers."

The PulseWave RF Class M(TM) Power is a breakthrough technology that digitizes RF signals and linearizes them in the digital domain utilizing real-time feedback. The result is the wireless industry's first fully-integrated linearization technology. The high degree of integration provided by the Class M RF Power(TM) modules sets new industry benchmarks for size with the PW8100 module measuring a mere 3 1/2" x 1 7/8" x 7/8" (9.4 x 4.7 x 2.1 cm) - the size of a business card. In addition to reducing a typical amplifier form factor by greater than 50 percent, this digital architecture will enable an average amplifier level efficiency of 25 percent, while reducing overall costs.

Both Class M Power modules can be parallel combined to meet the varied requirements of microcells, macrocells and remote radio heads. The PulseWave RF PW8100 module is targeted at the 800 MHz CDMA market and is scalable in 100 Watt peak power increments. The PulseWave RF PW21200 is targeted at the 2100 MHz WCDMA market and is scalable in 200Watt peak power increments.

Availability

The evaluation kit for the Class M RF Power(TM) PW8100 module will be available in April 2008 and the evaluation kit for the PW21200 module will be released in August 2008. For more information, visit PulseWave RF at CTIA Wireless 2008 in booth #1563 or visit www.pulsewaverf.com.
