Key Features of the THS73x3 Family
Manufactured in TI's proprietary BiCom3 complementary bipolar silicon germanium process, the THS7303, THS7313 and THS7353 feature 2.7 V to 5 V single-supply operation and are as much as 20x lower power than competing amplifiers. For example, total quiescent current at 3.3 V for the THS7353 is 16.2 mA and total power is 54 mW. This reduces system thermal issues, increases long-term reliability and provides a key benefit for customers designing environmentally-friendly products. In addition, the devices share the following key features:
* 2:1 input MUX
* Integrated 5th order low pass filters with Butterworth
characteristics, which strikes a balance between group delay and
attenuation
* Selectable input bias modes and rail-to-rail outputs to allow for a
variety of AC and DC coupled modes
* Individual channel disable and independent channel mute control
* When all channels are disabled, the current is 0.1 uA
The THS7303 and THS7313 are video line driver output devices configured in a gain of 6 dB with SAG correction, and they are capable of driving up to two doubly-terminated 75 ohms video lines. The THS7303 integrates I2C-programmable 9-, 16- and 35-MHz digital-to-analog converter (DAC) reconstruction filters for standard-definition digital television (SDTV), enhanced-definition television (EDTV) and high-definition television (HDTV), and a 190-MHz filter bypass mode for 1080p or SXGA/UXGA video standards. The THS7313 includes a fixed 9-MHz filter for SDTV.
The THS7353 is a video input device containing analog-to-digital converter (ADC) anti-aliasing filter modes selectable at 9-, 16-, and 35-MHz along with a 150-MHz bypass mode. The THS7353 unity gain amplifier can be configured with external resistors for gains up to 14dB to allow compensation of skin effect losses on cables or SinX/X DAC compensation.
The THS73x3 devices join TI's extensive offering of high-performance analog and digital signal processor (DSP) products for video applications, including DaVinci(TM) products optimized for digital video systems. TI provides the silicon, software, systems expertise and support for customers' video designs, enabling them to get to market quickly.
