"Our combined technologies are blazing fast and support frontline users as they push beyond the boundaries of traditional business intelligence; the information enriched geospatial analytics support an entirely new breed of agile, real-time decision making," said Randy Lea, vice president, product marketing and management, Teradata Corporation. "APOS provides business users with the capability of leveraging technologies within a single system while maximizing the power of the Teradata engine."

The explosion of data, including geospatial data from sources such as social media and mobile devices, requires that business users quickly navigate and analyze massive amounts of integrated business and location data with visual maps integrated with business reports. The ability to geo-tag data from mobile devices and social media services helps businesses understand where, when and how mobile applications area being used.

For example, restaurateurs or retailers can automatically monitor customer loyalty card member locations and send a coupon for dinner or a discount for clothing based on the individual consumer's historical buying habits and location. To be profitable, businesses must be nimble enough to deliver the right information, at the right time using the right channel. The location intelligence capabilities of the APOS solution are directly applicable to decision making and data sources related to a wide range of sectors including insurance, finance, healthcare, retail, energy, utilities and government.

Enterprise intelligence is built on the foundation of a central warehouse, which pushes valuable information into the company's operations and to frontline decision-makers in a more real-time manner. This information supports better, faster decisions because it is a combination of historical reporting and analysis, predictive analytics and near real-time customer or business activity and geospatial data.

"The APOS Location Intelligence edition for Teradata is easy to understand and navigate, allowing users to ask more complex questions, and get answers faster, with deeper insight," said Allan Pym, APOS vice president of sales. "We deliver a highly intuitive platform that unlocks the power of visualizations and streamlines all aspects of the data synthesis and analysis process."

The Teradata Edition of the APOS Location Intelligence Solution allows organizations to drive the full potential of geospatial business intelligence to existing and new user communities by integrating the visual maps, analysis and content from Esri with the business intelligence reports and analytics of SAP BusinessObjects. Teradata is the solid analytic foundation, which accelerates the processing of spatial and business data by leveraging its in-database power. The Teradata database can access spatial data from either Esri or its own storage disks and use it with SAP BusinessObjects applications.

The solution enables maps and other Geographic Information System content to be integrated and embedded within reports and dashboards. The embedded maps can be dynamically linked with the data, charts, graphs and other analytics used in Crystal Reports, WebIntelligence, Xcelcius, or Dashboard Builder. This lets users immediately see refreshed report or map views based on selections in either one. Interactive maps can also be included in web or printed reports, such as a PDF file.
