New England Robotics Education Conference Features Fund Raising, Classroom Methodologies, and Team Building

BRIDGEWATER, Mass., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The First Annual New England Robotics In Education Conference will be held October 25th at the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School.

This exciting event, Robotics Inside Out, is sponsored jointly by the high school's TJ2 Robotics Team and The National Robotics Education Foundation (NREF).

Open to educators in grades k-12 and interested parents, the event will focus on bringing robotics efforts to additional children in the New England area. At the same time, educators already involved in robotics can learn how to obtain additional funding for their efforts as well as new teaching techniques.

This program will feature methodologies to install curriculum enhancements, reduce the costs of purchasing supplies and implement programs for after-school robotics activities designed to benefit New England children. Participants will also gain hands-on experience with Lego Mindstorms NXT.

Professional Development Points from Tufts University will be available

The morning keynote address will be from Dan Ward, a community college robotics education professor. He has developed and fostered funding avenues through state training programs in five other states besides his native Indiana.

Other speakers will include high school teachers, college and university faculty, experienced fundraisers, students, parents and surprise industry experts. There will be on-going demonstrations by students using several different robotics programs and concepts, creating tie-dye tee shirts, and tours of the high school's robotics rooms.

The full day program includes lunch, demonstrations from other robotics suppliers--including life size robots--and door prizes including two complete classroom curriculum sets from Lego and Gears.

Attendance is limited and information and application forms are available at www.the-nref.org or by emailing Email Contact.
