Virage Logic Partners with MTEK I&C to Bring Its Advanced Silicon Aware Intellectual Property (IP) to the Korean Design Community

SEOUL, South Korea & FREMONT, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—December 10, 2007— Virage Logic Corporation (NASDAQ: VIRL), the semiconductor industry's trusted IP partner and pioneer in Silicon Aware IP(TM), and Korean-based MTEK I&C Co. Ltd., a provider of equipment and infrastructure for radio frequency (RF) solutions, today announced a partnership agreement to service the IP needs of Korean design engineers. The agreement will enable MTEK I&C to sell and support Virage Logic's advanced IP solutions in the Korean SoC market. By offering Virage Logic's robust, silicon proven portfolio of semiconductor IP - including embedded memories, logic libraries and Double Data Rate (DDR) memory controller solutions - MTEK I&C is helping customers meet their complex SoC design requirements and achieve increased predictability and manufacturability.

"MTEK I&C is pleased to offer our customers the advanced Silicon Aware IP solutions Virage Logic pioneered," said Harold Kim, chief executive officer, MTEK I&C. "We look at this partnership as an opportunity to strengthen our image and advance our product portfolio by partnering with an extremely well-respected IP provider and offering valuable new products and services to enhance our customers' silicon designs."

"Virage Logic looks forward to partnering with MTEK I&C and distributing our advanced silicon aware IP solutions to Korea's rapidly growing SoC design community," said Pete Rodriguez, chief marketing officer, Virage Logic. "We are excited to add MTEK I&C to the list of more than 300 companies around the world who consider Virage Logic their trusted IP partner. The agreement with MTEK I&C will give us a local presence so we can easily provide Korean engineers with the solutions and technical support they need to increase their yields and maximize profitability."

About Silicon Aware IP

To help SoC designers address the complex predictability and manufacturability challenges at advanced process nodes, in 2005 Virage Logic pioneered a new class of semiconductor IP called Silicon Aware IP. The company's Silicon Aware IP offering (embedded memories, logic libraries and I/Os) includes silicon behavior knowledge for increased predictability and manufacturability. This intelligence includes hardware implementations for optimal yield in the design phase and extends to include test, repair, and diagnostics for manufacturability. Because Silicon Aware IP understands the behavior of silicon and is able to address post-silicon issues, it is key in helping designers maximize yield, lower test escapes, increase reliability, speed time-to-volume and improve overall manufacturability.
