ENOVIA MatrixOne Frees Up More Than 6,000 Design Hours Per Year at Agere Systems; Synchronicity installation an example of ENOVIA MatrixOne semiconductor design data management and professional service leadership

WESTFORD, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aug. 22, 2006— Dassault Systemes (DS) (NASDAQ: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced today that ENOVIA MatrixOne has refined its implementation with Agere Systems, consolidating 160 separate ENOVIA MatrixOne Synchronicity(R) software installations, which span 17 design centers in six countries, into a common architecture and support system. In an example of a successful vendor-customer relationship, ENOVIA MatrixOne's professional services team worked closely with Agere to maximize efficiencies and reduce errors in what could have become an extremely unwieldy multiplicity of software installations.

By streamlining the implementation to eliminate thousands of hours of work each year, designers are now able to add strategic value in other areas - such as developing new innovative products and optimizing existing solutions - giving Agere a competitive advantage.

Agere Systems is a global leader in semiconductors for storage, wireless data, and public and enterprise networks. The company's chips and software power a broad range of computing and communications applications, from cell phones, PCs, PDAs, hard disk drives and gaming devices to the world's most sophisticated wireless and wireline networks. Over the past six years, Agere has installed a combined 650 licenses of ENOVIA MatrixOne's Synchronicity(R) Developer Suite(TM) and Synchronicity DesignSync(R) for secure collaborative data design management across its global locations.

"ENOVIA MatrixOne's Synchronicity solutions have already improved our organization's ability to manage our product data and engineering processes. However, due to the unique insight and understanding that the team had of Agere's business and how our engineers work, we were able to collaborate and find additional ways to improve the efficiency and success of our organization," said Joe Tanenbaum, senior systems engineer - IT Design Tools Team Leader, Agere Systems.

Chief among the improvements are the automation of administrative tasks, improved data integrity preservation, centralized management for greater security and uniform support and training.

"A successful relationship between an IT vendor and its customers requires consistent collaboration and review," said Patricia Megowan, vice president of global electronics for ENOVIA MatrixOne. "As a result of our leadership position in semiconductor design data management, Agere is now able to better leverage its assets, manage projects more efficiently and improve its time to market."
